Let me restate. I initially tried to find the interview for SuBe because I remembered watching it. I couldn't find it, having forgot that it was on a different site. Then Ted posted the link, at which point I thanked him. That was wasn't made very clear in the original exchange. I thought you all could read my mind.

Strikes are a tough time for all involved. I've been on strike. It got me what I enjoy today, which is being able to work for 30 years and have a nice retirement. If we had never walked the picket line for 82 days in 1970, I would still be working until I would be 67 years old. "You can never regain what you lose in a strike!", I've heard, but you also can get stuff you never thought would be possible too!

Correct Dave so long as strikes are used as an absolute last resort. There was a time when our union was run by militants and they wanted us out at the drop of a hat. They were voted out in the end and we now have a more moderate union who use debate and alternative methods to achieve our rights. It was by dialog alone that we secured and kept our right to retire from the government at 60 and not 65. (Thats just for us oldies though). Ahh 7 years to go Sooner if I'm lucky!

Local weekly seattle paper, The Stranger has a piece in it's latest issue called From Lowest to Highest: The Levels of Greatness a Fiction Writer Can Achieve in America from Tao Lin. I love Jane. As a member of our RWA (Romance Writers of America) chapter, I've had the opportunity to meet her on a few occasions. She is a very sweet, giving person and a great writer. Not only does she write well, she helps other writers with her workshops. I can't wait to get her new book.
