I spoke to Kurt Harland-Larson from Information Society while the band was playing a show at Seattle's El CorazÓn.
It was the second time the band had performed their new full-length show with the original line-up. We spoke about their current show, and talked a bit of history regarding the Mr. Spock "Pure Energy" sample from "I Want to Know."
"Synthesizer" is the first new Information Society album in a decade. During the prior ten years, the band was patiently waiting for the music industry to catch up to it. Information Society was among the first bands ever to add computer-data content to a music CD (back in 1988) and has continued to push the boundaries of technology, not only in the creation of music but in the delivery of it. "Synthesizer" itself is innovative: an album that sounds like classic new wave synthpop...if the genre had just been invented today. It's fresh and vital but retains all of Information Society's signature sound. -Amazon.com

Kurt is also the audio director for Slipgate Ironworks, and is currently designing a soundscape for an MMO that is currently being kept under wraps.
