Ours

I met up with Jimmy Gnecco, frontman of alternative rockband OURS, after they opened for Marilyn Manson in Seattle.  According to their bio:
Ours began in 1992, and built a strong following playing shows in New York City. By 1997, the band had sparked a label bidding war, and when the smoke settled, they signed a deal with Dreamworks Records. For their first record, Distorted Lullabies, Ours worked with legendary producer Steve Lillywhite. The record was released in 2001, and was met with beaming critical praise, and fervent fan appreciation. Their single Sometimes enjoyed heavy rotation at both radio and MTV2. Ours followed up Distorted Lullabies in 2003 with Precious, helmed by critically acclaimed producer, Ethan Johns. For the past 4 years, Ours have been meticulously crafting their 3rd record with world renowned producer Rick Rubin.
Here's the somewhat creepy video for Live Again, a track on their upcoming album:

I talked with Jimmy about his start in music, working with Rick Rubin, and the sometimes rough job of opening for Marilyn Manson.

And keep your eyes peeled for some special appearances by Chris in this video...

Marilyn Manson fans are, (or at least think of themselves as), pretty hardcore, so they don't practice much hospitality when it comes to opening bands.  I guess they are just there to see Manson, and anyone else just stands in the way...
Nice, Chris....when did you discover this?

The video IS kinda creepy, but I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the interview, too.  Why IS it so hard to open for Marilyn Manson?  Why is the audience so hostile?  Is that just the crowd he draws, or is it because they are there to see an opening band, or what?
