Countdown to Sundance!

So technically the Sundance Film Festival is starting tonight... But who gets to a party early?  In fashionable Groupee style, we're arriving a little late, (Saturday night), but we'll be staying till Thursday evening.  It should be an action-packed week full of film screenings, celebrity interviews, fancy swag, sneaking into parties, and other fiascos.  It's so special, in fact, that we decided to start a whole channel for it!  So make sure to sign up for the Groupee@Sundance channel here.  Barry, Chris, and myself will be blogging and posting reviews and interviews throughout the week, so get ready to start living vicariously through us.

I've already lined up interviews with Ben Kingsley, Stanley Tucci, Matthew Perry, Method Man, and many others.  Chances are that some of those people will cancel, but hopefully we'll schedule some other cool interviews while we're down there.  I already got my first cancellation yesterday, when I got the call informing me that Luke Wilson's "schedule changed," and he won't be able to talk to us...  I'm staying positive though, and I'm ready and willing to sneak into parties and/or hotel rooms to get the interview!

Sundance here we come!

Hey, speaking of swag, I have a funny swag story.  A few years ago I was in LA for training for an old job.  One evening, I was in WeHo (West Hollywood) looking for this one night club I heard was a fun place to hang out.

I though I had found the club,  so I walked between these two tough looking bouncer guys at the entrance.   As I walked past one of them yelled out "Hey!".  So I turned around expecting to get kicked out or something.  But he just held up a bag of stuff and said, "Don't forget your swag bag."  A little confused, I just took the bag and said "Thanks."

I went into the club and had a few drinks (which were on the house for some reason) and just hung out, danced with a few people and had a good time.  I thought some of the people looked familiar, like they might have been famous which isn't too uncommon in Hollywood.

Later when I got back to my hotel, I decided to look through my bag and among it was a set of personalized tea bags that had all the Will & Grace characters on it.  "Hmm, strange," I thought to myself.  I kept looking and eventually found a card that said "Thanks to all the cast and crew for another great season of Will and Grace!".

Thats when it hit me.  I had accidentally stumbled into the Will and Grace rap party and was partying with the cast and crew all night!  Crazy place that Hollywood.
