Just finished the junket for Revolver. After reading more about this movie, and talking to the people who made it, I really want to see this one again. But first, the juknet report:
So I got there at 10:30AM, ready to talk to Vincent Pastore, (one of the stars of the film), and sat around for a little over an hour before they called my name. Once they brought me into the hallway, I realized I'd be talking to a few more people. I'd also be talking to co-star Jason Statham, (who was doing a double interview with Vincent), as well as director Guy Ritchie. Now, I've looked over my emails, and they never mentioned these other names, so it wasn't a mistake on my part...
Anyway, first up was Vincent and Jason. I ditched my notebook and went in there hands-free. Jason was making fun of the way Vincent said "coffee" when I walked in, and then they started talking about bad American accents by British actors. I chimed in with my opinion, and pretty soon we were chatting about bad British accents too. We didn't even notice when the guy gave us our signal to start the interview- which is a good sign. We had a nice chat, and when the guy told us to wrap up, Jason even told him to let me ask another question.
Next up- Guy Ritchie. I came in, and we chatted for a few seconds about my name, (which Barry can tell you is a pretty common occurence). He was wearing a very nice argyle sweater. We got started and I brought up some of my thoughts on the film, (I won't go into them now- you can watch the interview later). He stopped me after one of my thoughts, and told me that I was the first journalist to bring it up. Later, he even said that I described it more succinctly than he did. I guess I wasn't as confused about the film as I thought! Guy was super nice and we even chatted for a bit after we finished up the interview.
All in all- long wait beforehand, but great junket.
